Sophie Lieberman PhD, GAICD is a strategic advisor and former senior executive with over two decades of experience leading transformational change across Australia's major cultural institutions. She established her independent consultancy in 2020, working with cultural, public, and purpose-driven organisations on strategy, governance, and organisational transformation. Across that work, she has been sensing something deeper than the need for change - a need for adaptation and transformation, for doing something fundamentally different in order to become something different, in response to shifts in purpose and in the systems within which cultural organisations operate.

REGENERATE is her approach to a response: a foundation document and emerging initiative to build the transition infrastructure that Australia's arts and cultural sector currently lacks. It draws on international evidence, sector intelligence, and a career spent navigating the space where cultural value, institutional form, and community purpose meet.
